CPC CONCRETE SLABS
Carbon prestressed concrete is the versatile construction material of the modern age Filigree CP concrete slabs are one of many varieties of prestressed concrete that are reinforced with thin strands of carbon fiber. With the same bearing capacity, CPC concrete slabs are thinner, weigh less and thus significantly reduce CO2 emissions compared to the production of cast-in-place concrete and other precast concrete elements.
A repository cover in CP-Concrete slabs does not require a building permit and is very effective in reducing greenhouse gas and smell emissions. The influence of the yard and landscape with CP-Concrete elements, according to the Planning and Building Ordinance (PBO), is equal to “neutral”. Carbon prestressed concrete elements are considered as “permanent-efficiency storage silos covers” and easily respond to all relevant requirements of the “Structural Protection of the Agriculture” Implementation Guide. They are therefore of course considered in Switzerland as “approved slurry storage covers”.
The carbon prestressed concrete covers – including built-in beams – consist of a concrete quality of at least C45 / 60 and correspond to exposure class XC1-4 (according to SIA 262). The slabs are each arranged with a wheelbase of 2.95 m and the edge supports of these plates are laid on a hard rubber strip with a tissue insert (mounting tile). The top layer of the panel is largely non-porous and corresponds to slip resistance R12. The ready-to-install CP-Concrete slabs can be assembled in a very short time.
Carbon prestressed concrete ceilings can be used without a pillar up to a span of ~18.0 m and do not require a building permit. Planning, technical drawings and static dimensioning are carried out by JBMC Inc. Delivery is made free domicile (DAP) directly by the manufacturer. JBMC Inc. coordinates the assembly. a mobile crane truck is to be organized at the expense of the farm for the construction / assembly period.
FOEN ENVIRONMENT & CONSTRUCTIONS
ADVANTAGES THROUGH CPC CONCRETE SLABS
- Reduces – in the repository – the emission (evaporation) of ammonia, methane and nitrous oxide
- Allows you to benefit from specific investment aid for installations that allow the achievement of ecological objectives and do not require replacement investments in the future (very low lifetime costs)
- Reduction of emissions of ammonia and greenhouse gases as part of a building permit procedure
- Increases repository storage capacity and limits slurry storage odors (means better environment around farm)
- Very short construction times on the market, reduction of actual and absolute construction costs and absence of any procedure related to construction and water protection permits
- Enables nutrient recovery and thus a reduction in the acquisition costs of fertilizer and artificial fertilizer
- “Just in time” delivery and project planning with the latest CAD technology as well as static calculations “all inclusive”.
Sustainable development from which everyone involved

SYSTEMS / CARBON PRESTRESSED CONCRETE SLABS
The manufacture of CP-Concrete slabs is protected by patents. Internal processes and various production machines have been specially developed for the manufacture of the carbon reinforcement and the concrete slabs. In a specially equipped processing Centre, all the large-format panels are cut using 5-axis CNC machines and then assembled to become semi-finished products.
The three to four centimeter reinforcement cover required with conventional reinforced concrete slabs is no longer necessary. In comparison, CPC slabs are three to four times thinner and therefore weigh less – and that with the same load-bearing capacity. Thanks to prestressing, CPC slabs remain crack-free under service loads (which is not the case with other concrete structures).
The prestressed concrete reinforced with carbon (CPC material) is a high-quality construction material made of high-strength, freeze-thaw and wear-resistant concrete with a carbon reinforcement. CPC technology is suitable thanks to two decisive advantages: the extremely low weight o f the elements and the resistance to corrosion due to the absence of steel.
Depending on the construction, the use of CP-Concrete slabs saves up to 80 % of materials and reduces the CO2-footprint of the elements by up to 75 %. Due to its very low carbon content, carbon prestressed concrete can be recycled without any problems and without special treatment.
